| White King (WK)
Age: 36 years oldThe White King is the son of the previous king and queen. His parents, following the tradition, were presented all the female carapaces born the same day and choose one to become the next queen. Both were raised together and had the same education; they were taught philosophy, diplomacy and how to rule the kingdom. The future king was a good student but never took real interest into these things. He was peace-loving and enjoyed life too much to care for royal issues. After his coming of age, he was crowned the new king of Prospit and married the queen. The White King is relatively peaceful and naive. His relationship with his wife is based on mutual respect and tenderness. He has next to no interest in the matters of the kingdom. Therefore, he can easily be influenced by his human counsellors. Most of the expansionist policies (for example, going on Alternia to compete against Derse) were ideas thrust upon the king who was easily convinced. The king has the greatest powers of Prospit. However, he’s more of a puppet who serves greater minds behind him. Every law he passes had been created by someone else, may they be human counsellors or the White Queen. War against Derse frightens the White King. However, he has no choice but to send the army fight off the invader. That decision came from him. He might not be the greatest ruler Prospit ever had but he still has the interest of his people at heart. Note: The king wears gold attire since there is no prototyping. | TAKEN => Character sheetWhite Queen (WQ) Age: 36 years oldShe was one of the female carapaces born the same day as the king. After being chosen to become the new queen, she was taken in the palace and raised with the future king. Contrary to the White King, the future queen took real interest in the diplomatic and political aspects of ruling a kingdom. The queen loves her husband tenderly. They were lucky in their arranged wedding, to find someone they were able to love. It wasn’t often the case. Like the king, she loves peace and tries to bring that philosophy to the kingdom. However, since the queen is less powerful than the king, she has to constantly seek her husband’s approval. Like mentioned before, the White King is often influenced by his counsellors who have less humanitarian goals; therefore, the White Queen has to fight against them to make sure the kingdom stays at peace. When the alternian conquest was lunched, the White Queen was enraged. She did her best to convince the king it wasn’t a good idea. Sadly, his idea was set and nothing could be done to stop the war ships leaving for Alternia. After months of a useless war, the queen finally had her ways and engaged in negotiations with the Black Queen. They agreed that the war had gone too far and that it had to be stopped. They concluded that the now homeless trolls had to be taken back on either Prospit or Derse as a way for both of the kingdoms to mend the indubitable mistake they made. The White Queen spent countless hours with the Heir to help him in his training. The conversations were always lighter when the White King was present. However, when the Queen was alone with John, they had deep debates about various subjects. The queen did her best to help the trolls’ conditions. When Jade come to see her and explained the problem with the hemospectrum, the White Queen passed a law to forbid any discrimination between trolls. She monitored the situation as closely as she could. The coup d’état on Derse came as an immense shock to both prospitian rulers. No one on the golden planet was prepared to this. The Black King had been killed and no one knew what had happened to the Black Queen. After two weeks of ignorance regarding the intentions of the new Empress, war ships came a little too near of Prospit. The war between the two kingdoms was inevitable. The White Queen had to resign herself; peace between Prospit and Derse was definitively lost. After a while, rumors of the horror inflicted to the citizens of Derse by the highbloods spread like wild fire. Prospitians started to be afraid of the trolls on their planet. Even the laws the White Queen passed couldn’t protect them from the fear and racism that followed.

| Parcel Mistress (PM) Age: 30 years oldShe is a carapace from Prospit. She had the average childhood every carapace from the low district would have: she went to school and prepared for her career. Her parents were shop keeper in the market but PM aimed for more. When she was eighteen, she took a job at the post office and has worked as a mail lady since then. Originally, she delivered mail only on Prospit. But after some time, she was considered good enough to be part of the Derse unit. That means she was assigned a small ship and travelled to Derse, delivering letters from Prospitians to Dersites. Most of the time, she would leave immediately after the delivery. It was Derse’s postal system responsibility to deliver letters from Derse to Prospit. However, some people would trust PM more than they would trust regular postal service. It wasn’t rare that someone who asked PM to stick around while they read the letter, wrote the appropriate answer and gave them to her for delivery. In fact, PM’s unit was, for the most part, dealing with high ranked people. These people often had secrets matters and they felt safe with PM. When the Condesce took control of Derse, the unit responsible for delivering mail to Prospit was cancelled and any flying ship from Prospit’s mail service was shot at sight. PM thought her days of travelling Prospit and Derse were over. One day, Prospit’s Witch, for whom the Parcel Mistress had delivered more letters than she could remember, summoned her. She asked her to keep delivering letters to Derse for her and for anyone who asked. PM was terrified but proud to be assigned such an important task. The Witch made PM’s ship almost undetectable by mechanics means and almost impossible to be seen. However, if hit directly, this camouflage would cease to work. She was also provided with dersite clothes and a supply of potions to make her skin turn black. The effect of the potions would wear out after 5 hours so PM was to act quickly and never forget to bring a backup potion with her. PM was now the mail lady of the rebellion. One day, PM came across a young troll named Karkat who asked her to deliver some highly important documents to a troll on Derse. PM asked more information but the troll said he couldn’t give her more. He said it was important that she choose the receiver with care; that they had to be a troll who had nothing to do with the Condesce and didn’t believe in the “hemospectrum bullshit” to quote the troll properly. Following the Witch’s request, she accepted to carry on with this mission. She went on Derse and was undetected. She searched for a troll fitting the description Karkat gave her. She searched in vain because no troll was found on the street that day, they were all hiding. PM searched for so long that the potion she took before landing wore out and her skin turned back to white without her noticing. An agent spotted her and tried to arrest her at once. Luckily for PM, a young troll rescued her. Nepeta, as PM found out later, was the right person to give Karkat’s letter to. PM went back to Prospit after taking her potion and delivered Nepeta’s letter to Karkat. Note: Her outfit stays pretty much the same but it's gold fabric.

| TAKEN => Character sheetBlack Queen (BQ)
Age: 36 years oldThe Black Queen is the daughter of the previous monarchs, therefore, she was destined to become queen since the day she was born. Following the tradition, during the week that followed her birth, her parents had to meet the parents of other children, more specifically, boys, who had been born on the same day as their daughter. The one who was chosen by her parents was brought to the Palace so that he could grow up along with the future queen. As they grew up, they received the same education. They were taught to read and to write, and how to express themselves well. They were also taught diplomacy, politics, and philosophy. Her mother, the previous queen, made sure she would become a strong woman like herself. Having been herself the direct descendant of the royal family, she knew that being in a position of power required that kind of asset, and she didn't want her daughter's decisions to be influenced by anyone. Because of this, the Black Queen never really had a childhood. Nobody ever read fairytales to her, and she wasn't allowed to play with dolls. This also made her become rather cold as she grew up. During their adolescence, the future Black King tried his best to court the Black Queen, but he was never able to capture her heart. She therefore married a carapace she never loved. It didn't really bother her, though, since she had been accustomed to that idea since she was little. Besides, she believed her purpose wasn't to become infatuated with someone who had been imposed on her, but to be a sovereign. And that's what she did. Her first decision as the new Queen, was to expand the territory of Derse. She sent space ships all over Skaia, and that's when Alternia was discovered. However, the alternian territory was also coveted by Prospit. War broke out between the two civilizations. After months of destruction, the White Queen engaged negotiations with her. That's when they decided that the war had to end, and the remaining trolls were sent to either Derse or Prospit. She also established various programs to integrate help the trolls in the society. This friendly agreement didn't please everyone, especially not Jack Noir, the archagent. They had a conflict over this, which created a deep bond of hatred between the two of them. The next few years were peaceful, and that's when the Black Queen started spending more time with the Prince. She didn't mind her husband's company, but sometimes, he could be rather boring. Spending time with Dirk entertained her, and even though he had servants to take care of him, she would often read books to him, and play with him. It compensated a little for her lack of childhood, and that was soothing. As he grew up, he had less time for her because of his education and his military training. However, he still found time in his busy schedule to talk with her. They also often played chess together. Over time, they developed a really deep bond that, on the Queen's part, was close to moirallegiance. Obviously, her pale feelings for him were unrequited, and Dirk saw her more like a parental figure. Despite that, the Black King was rather jealous of their relationship, and especially of Dirk's influence on the Queen. Dirk was the one who convinced the Queen to change the system of public order for a legal system. After that decision was taken, things changed quickly. The palace was assaulted by the Condesce and Jack Noir. The Black Queen was imprisoned in the Palace dungeons. That's where she currently is. She's constantly being questioned about the Prince's whereabouts, and often tortured. For more information on the Black Queen's relationship with Dirk:Dirk's character sheet

| TAKEN => Character sheetJack Noir
Age: 35 years oldJack Noir was born in a rather wealthy family. At the time, his father was the archagent, so he grew up in the High district, where most of the agents and their families were established. Less than a year after he was born, it was already decided that he was to become an agent too. Especially since he was his only children, his father wanted him to follow his steps. Jack thus went Derse's most prestigious school. In addition to his homework, he also had to go to the military base every day after school, so that he could be trained as an agent. Jack actually didn't really like all this arduous work. The only part he liked was the physical training, especially the weapon wielding training. However, his father insisted that he kept working hard, and moreover, to have excellent results, so he had to comply. During his training, Jack Noir got to meet the people who would later become his subordinates. He didn't get along with most of the kids there, especially because of his tendency to hate everyone, but also because he often got on people's nerves. However, three kids he knew both from school and the military base got closer to him. One of them, who is nowadays know as the Draconian dignitary, even eventually became his moirail. When Jack was about 20 years old, Derse went on a quest to expand its territory. That's when Alternia was discovered, and Prospit and Derse's respective armies fought each other, eventually leading to Alternia's destruction. Jack Noir being, at that time, a regular agent, he had to fight during that war. He proved to be a very effective soldier, who killed as many Prospitians and trolls he could. His father also got killed by a troll during one of the battles. Jack was embarrassed by his father's death, because he believed that dying by the hand of a people that he judged was inferior to them was a great humiliation. He did however avenge his father by killing the troll responsible for his death. Back on Derse, the archagent post was assigned to him. Happy to do his job, he made sure that anyone to break the law would regret doing so. He also got into a disagreement with the Queen for the first time, and that's where his hatred for her first began to grow. That argument actually concerned the trolls and what would happen to them in the future. Jack believed that they should become slaves, as he thought they were inferior. However, the Queen decided that they would be treated just as well as her other subjects. She even established a system of social security, in which, notably, a guardian would be assigned to the younger trolls until they were able to provide for their own needs. Furthermore, Jack Noir, as the archagent, had to make sure that the people's security was guaranteed, including the trolls' security, something he wasn't very happy with. A couple of years went by and things started to change gradually, on Derse. The Black Queen's pet, Prince Dirk, whose role made him, by definition, to be more of an accessory than anything else, turned out to have a lot more influence than expected. As he got older, he spent more and more time in the Queen's company, and eventually, his moral principles and sense of justice started to rub off on her. When the Queen decided to turn the actual system of public order made by the agents into a legal system in which one is considered innocent until proven guilty, that's when Jack Noir finally couldn't take it anymore. In the previous system, he could actually take part in patrolling the streets and he basically didn't have to justify himself to anyone. However, his job in the new system consisted mostly of filing reports so someone else could take care of the case. That's about when he met the Condesce. She offered him the opportunity to help her overthrow the King and the Queen and he gladly took it, on the condition that she would have to allow him to kill the Prince. However, he soon realised that the Prince was long gone. Mad with rage, he ordered some of his subordinates to find him. So far, he has yet to be found, but agents are constantly looking for him. Jack allowed the Empress to kill the King as well as a few humans from the aristocracy, but he forbid her to do anything to the Queen, using the fact that she might know something about the Prince's whereabouts as an excuse (the true explanation behind his act being his caliginous relationship with her). He also brought back the previous public order system, only with a few ameliorations. He now commands troops of agents and highbloods who are responsible for Derse's public order.

| TAKEN! => Character sheetDraconian Dignitary (DD)
Age: 35 years oldThe Draconian Dignitary was born in the Low district. His family was rather average and he grew up in good conditions. He went to school in the Low district for a while, but after two years there he was transferred to a better school in the High district because he had shown great intellectual and physical skills, and at that time, every school in Derse had to send anyone with agent potential to the High district. His parents were allocated some money so they could move there. Because he lacked about two years of formation, he had to spend more time at the military base than the other kids, just like every transfer student had to do. This means that in addition to going to the military base every day after school, he also had to go on weekends. He made a couple of friends there, who also attended the same school as him, namely, Jack Noir, the Hegemonic Brute, and the Courtyard Droll. He got a lot closer to Jack Noir, though, and even now, they're both still in each other's pale quadrant. After he graduated from military school, he started working as an agent, which consisted of patrolling the streets and making sure nobody was doing any trouble, but also filing some paperwork sometimes. His favourite part about the job was actually the punishments. He had a reputation for catching a lot of thieves, and that he liked it, maybe because when he did, he got to chop their hand off. DD participated in the war of conquest of the alternian territory like all of the agents who were on duty at that time. He once again proved his efficiency, killing hundreds of prospitian soldiers, but also many trolls. Back on Derse, he had to deal with his moirail's aversion for the trolls, even though he himself didn't hate them any more than the carapaces or the humans. He did feel superior to them, but that's pretty much how he felt about everybody. Still, DD had to deal with most of Jack Noir's bitching about the Queen and her stupid decisions and, even though it was annoying as hell, he tried to support him the best he could. Just like Jack Noir, he was infuriated with the Queen's change of the penal system. That's why he decided to faithfully follow his friend in his decision to form an alliance with the wicked Condesce. At first he didn't trust her, and he still doesn't fully, but he decided to trust his moirail. Moreover, he missed the old public order system, and he thought the Queen was getting too soft (what with the Prince constantly meddling with her) and that a change was needed. After the overthrow took place, he was in charge of taking care of the King's execution as well as the execution of a few noble, even though he himself wasn't the executioner. After he realised the Prince was nowhere to be found, Jack Noir also put him in charge of the troops responsible for finding the missing Prince. Along with the Hegemonic Brute and the Courtyard Droll, DD is thus currently working on locating Dirk.

| Hegemonic Brute (HB)
Age: 35 years oldThe Hegemonic Brute was born in the Low district. His parents had a butcher shop, and, being merchants, they were pretty wealthy. HB was thus able to have a rather comfortable childhood. He went to his neighborhood school for a while and, much like the Draconian Dignitary, he was later transferred to a much more prestigious school in the High District. He didn't do as well as, for instance, DD, in the intellectual subjects (he was ok, but not outstanding), but he showed really great aptitudes in anything physical. At that time, schools all over Derse were mandated to send anyone with agent potential to the High District for a military training, so that's what happened. His parents decided to stay behind so they could keep working at the butcher shop, so he had to live at the military base with other agents. When he wasn't at school, he spent most of his time at the military base, since he had to take supplementary training to catch up on the formation he didn't get while he was in school in the Low district. Sometimes, however, he would visit his parents on holidays. Special funds were allocated to him so he could pay for a cab. He met his closest friends there, namely, Jack Noir, the Draconian Dignitary, and the Courtyard Droll, but he also spent a lot of time with older agents who also lived at the military base. After he graduated from military school, he became a full-fledged agent. For him, this consisted mostly of patrolling and giving punishment. Nothing really big happened before the war, though, so the worst punishment he had to give, was whip lashes. The most common offense was theft, and DD liked to take care of thieves, so he didn't have to do that. He also filled paperwork sometimes, but he didn't like it very much, so he tried to avoid it when he could. HB participated in the war like all of the agents. His brute strength allowed him to take out many prospitian soldiers and trolls. He got injured a couple of times during battles, but, due to his resistance, he was able to carry on. After the war, HB didn't really make an opinion on the new residents of Derse. He didn't especially like them, but he knew they usually just minded their own business and kept quiet, or at least, for the most part. They were also rather good merchants. A few highbloods were a bit more troublesome, but it was still something that could be easily dealt with. He didn't mind the systems the Queen established in order to help the trolls. He usually didn't care much about politics unless they affected him. But as long as he could do his job, get his paycheck, everything was alright. He didn't like the Queen's decision to get rid of the system of public order in favor of a legal system, but he probably wouldn't have complained much if the Empress's overthrow hadn't happened. With the new legal system, he still had to patrol, but he had a little more paperwork to do (like fill reports). He didn't like it too much, but it wasn't so bad. However, when Jack Noir notified him about his plans, HB decided to follow his friend. After all, it was either that, or get killed. HB really dislikes the Empress. He actually thinks she's even more of a bitch than the Queen was. |

| Courtyard Droll (CD)
Age: 35 years oldThe Courtyard Droll grew up in the high district in a family in which they were agents from father to son. Even before his birth, it was agreed that any boy from their family would become an agent. CD never had a say in it, even if it was obvious he didn’t have the right personality to become an agent. He was an innocent kid who had no interest in hurting anyone. However, his parents insisted he carried on with his military training, assessing that it would model him in the perfect agent. He was sent to the best school of the high district and he attended the military base on a daily basis. CD wasn’t really a bad recruit, but because of his personality, he was always getting distracted and sidetracked a lot. He put a lot of energy in stupid tasks and sometimes botched the serious ones. He wasn’t really good a gauging the importance of each task. He follows order without hesitation. However, the result might not be what you expect since CD has a creative mind and interprets orders as he likes. His best asset was his ability to handle bombs and explosives. During his training at the military base, he met his current friends, Jack Noir, Draconian Dignitary and Hegemonic Brute. They were often paired together during training and missions. The three other didn’t really like him at first; he was the weak link of the group and slowed them down a lot. Courtyard Droll wanted to become their friends and followed them around like a shadow. After a while, they finally accepted him in the group. But they still yell at him when he does stupid things... which happens quite a lot. During the alternian war, he was part of the large arsenal crew, shooting in a tank. That was probably the best place for him to be since he didn’t have to do anything else than shoot. He was not required to take decisions therefore, he couldn’t take bad decisions! Even while growing up, he still acts like a kid and has a happy-go-lucky attitude. The new inhabitants of Derse didn’t bother him. On the contrary of his friends, he even was friendly to them. Courtyard Droll followed his agent friends when they decided to help the Condesce overthrow the Black King and Queen. He doesn’t have an opinion about the subject; he only does as he is told. Right now, he is part of the patrols trying to locate the Prince.

| Authority Regulator (AR)
Age: 35 years oldAR had an average childhood in Derse’s low district. He went to a decent school where he decided he wanted to become an agent. He was disgusted by crime and wanted to fight it. His parents sent him to attend the military school during the weekend and every evening after school. However, he wasn’t skilled enough to be part of the elite troops. He was put in the Low District Street Regulation Squad, which was good enough for him. He was responsible of keeping the streets of the district in order. He was to apprehend any people taking part in illegal activities and also, to keep an eye for any contraband goods. While the agents from prestigious squads were fighting greater evil, AR was only taking care of the streets. But he was ok with that; he was doing his part to make a better place of Derse. He was sent to Alternia to fight in the war. AR wasn’t the most skilled soldier. In fact, he always failed to hit his target when handling a crossbow. He was eventually relegated in a tank where he spent the rest of the war. He mostly did damages to the landscape and killed next to no prospitians. Back on Derse, he carried on with his usual duties. AR was at peace with the changes the Black Queen made to the legal system. He agreed that innocents should have the right to defend themselves; injustices often happened in the previous system. When the Condesce took control of Derse, Authority Regulator was put off. He was part of the more conservative agents who were faithful to the Black King and Queen. He wasn’t in harmony with the Archagent’s decisions, let alone with the acts of violence that followed. Seeing his King assassinated and the citizens of Derse terrorized by highbloods and agents wasn’t AR’s idea of what Derse should be. He keeps doing his job but try protecting the citizens with all the resources available. He might join the rebellion if he ever find out about it. Note: He wears the regular agent uniform, a black tunic (see Jack Noir and other agents).

| Wayward Vagabond (WV) (Note: this is the only alias that would fit for WV in the AU. We are aware that it’s his exile alias!)
Age: 34 years old WV was born on Skaia. His parents were harvesters and worked to supply Derse with wheat. He had the kind of childhood any carapaces would have on Skaia and was expected to work hard all his life. When he was ten, he decided he didn’t want to work in the fields like his parents did; he wanted to explore the world. Even if he was really young, he packed his things and took the first ship to Derse to discover the planet his ancestors came from. He then spent the rest of his life wandering from planet to planet. He visited Prospit and Derse once and again but he preferred to stay on Skaia, in the forest. The planet was peaceful and gave you everything you needed. Seventeen years ago, WV was temporarily on Derse. When he was walking the streets to return to the ships supposed to take him back to Skaia, he found a human baby sleeping in a pile of trash, in a back-alley. WV took her in his arms. It was the first time he saw a human baby so he wasn’t sure what to do with her. Due to having spent almost his whole life on Skaia, he wasn’t aware that humans were all nobility. He knew the Black King and Queen and had seen humans before, but that was it. Therefore, it never occurred to him that it wasn’t logic for that baby girl to be there and that her place was on Derse’s moon. He walked around, looking for her parents. But there was no human nearby. There was no carapace either due to the late hour. WV thought it would have been heartless to leave a baby alone in a pile of trash and decided, on a whim, to take her with him. He took a ship going back to Skaia with the baby girl hidden in cape to protect her. Back on Skaia, he found out that the baby had a bracelet with human writing on it that said “Roxy”. Wayward Vagabond assumed it was her name, and he was, of course, right. Raising the baby was not easy. The carapace was not prepared for that. Nonetheless, he never regretted taking her with him. Having a traveling companion, even if she was a baby, was really enjoyable. WV found out that having a human baby was not something common. To avoid unnecessary questions, he bought a tunic, black clothes and made a mask to replicate a young carapace’s face. That made Roxy look exactly like a carapace kid and worked like a charm. With Roxy growing up, he enjoyed more and more her company. She was sunny and enthusiastic about everything. Their bond, as weird as it seems, is as close as the one a father and his daughter would have. For more information on WV's relationship with Roxy:Roxy's character sheet |
