| Head canon: Jane was born the only daughter to an aristocratic family on Prospit. When she was born, the Head Priestess of the Temple of Life came and took her to be raised into the role that had been ordained. She had been told that it was a short time after she was brought here that the Winds came, and that she cried for the Heir, tears that showed her deep connection with him and the prophecy.
Growing up as a maiden of the Temple of Life, she has shown to have a kind and just heart. She will happily assist anyone that so desires or needs the help, as long as what they are asking for is not out of her skills. This ranges from healing animals to humans and trolls, but because she’s still in training, she is not fully proficient in healing grave injuries quite yet.
She spent her childhood in the Temple, serving her duties and mastering her abilities. She would be involved with the escape plans of Jake and John, and although she often warned them about being careful she played along, her excuse being to make sure they didn’t hurt themselves before they were caught. She became close with Jake after he stopped by so often, sometimes a little upset that the priestess had kicked him out of the Temple, but that didn’t stop them from being friends.
When she met Roxy, she was curious as to why the girl was disguised as a carapace, and listened to her story, or as much as she could, with a bit of skepticism. She gave them the means to spend the night there, but couldn’t help feeling a little sad that she had left without even saying goodbye the next morning. She was hoping they could be friends.
When she was granted the privilege of escaping the Temple, Jane often found herself with John and Jake, and they would play together. Sometimes however, they were to attend meetings and as such, because she was soon to be the new Head Priestess, took a small role in it, being careful about voicing her concerns and when. She may have that title in the bag, but she was still just a maiden.
She wasn’t allowed to, but during her studies she discovered her love of preparing meals for others, in particular desserts. Because she always wanted to practice her baking, she would often request duties that pertained to the kitchen. She caught on fast, and when she was able to sneak inside to practice her skills. The priestesses were quite proud of her passion and let her practice it freely if she made enough for the others and it didn’t affect her studies.
She also grew to love theatrics. When John had entertainers perform, she would jump at the chance to be allowed to play with them, juggling or on stage, whatever they deemed she was able to do with little to no practice. On those types of days, she would make many desserts, as her favorite antic was throwing them into her friends face, often resulting in a massive food fight and laughter all around, despite the war taking place just outside their walls. It was a sort of peace, in its own way.
Since she was old enough, she watched her home of Prospit being attacked by Derse soldiers. She wished to help, but knew that she would be useless in a fight. Voicing her concern to the Head Priestess, she was told that her strength lied with healing and protecting others. As such, she took her job to heart and even more seriously, healing as many as she could, silently praying for the day when the paved streets would be cleansed of the bloodshed, the blue Skaian sky clear and the Heir on the throne.
Physical head canon:
Jane is roughly 5’4”. Because of her strife-less upbringing, she has an averabe body type, but also a little on the chubby, distributed evenly over her entire body. Despite her body, she is actually quite light on her feet.
Roleplay sample:
“Wake up Jane.” A familiar voice permeated her somewhat intriguing dream. Opening her eyes, she rose. It was daybreak of the new day. She nodded to her mentor and began to get herself ready for her training.
“When you are done, please meet me in the mediation chamber.” Her mentor left her to her whims and closed the door. Jane waited until she was sure she was a good distance away before letting out a sigh.
Just once would she like to sleep in, but she knew better. She knew she wouldn’t be prepared for helping John if she shirked from her duties. She rose and smiled. Today they were going to be practicing healing rabbits. And everyone knew of her fondness of the furry creatures.
She left the room, a spring in her step as she headed down to the mediation room, earning giggles from the other maidens whom lived there. She paid them no mind. Everyone here was kind enough, so she wasn’t worried about getting picked on for liking rabbits so much.
When she arrived, she bowed to the Head priestess, her bubbly smile faltering a bit. She knew her duties and what was expected of her, so she put on her serious face. It was time to work.
OOC: Hello everyone! My name’s Nydia but I’d prefer the name Hayner if that’s all right with you. I have been drabbling in roleplaying for about 8 years, but only started seriously just recently, so if I mess up, I apologize in advance. I’m also at college so I may not be on as much as I’d like, but I look forward to meeting you all and having a good time as Janey. Ah, meant to add that I'm pretty new to forum-based roleplaying. It actually took me a little while to find this thread, haha >_>;;; Website: I have two tumblr blogs I wouldn’t mind sharing: haynerscornershoppe and ariaofmeloetta. The former is my personal one, the latter is an art blog.

| I'm so glad to see a Jane Crocker here, and such a wonderfully written one as well.
Your characterization of Jane is admirable, and I love how you've made her such a likable and well-balanced character. Some fans may say that Jane is a bland and unimaginative character, but here, you write her as a responsible, adorable girl. The little details of her life incorporated into the sheet was also enjoyable to read. Great job on the character sheet!

| Yaaay Janey!! ;3; Welcome on the forum!
Wow, I really love your headcanon! Like White Queen said, you made her such a likable character!! I really like the fact you included her love for cooking and baking (and also her habit to prank people)!
Don't worry if you are new to forum roleplay, you will get used to it pretty fast! (also for the college thing, I think it's the case for most of the members so... we understand!!)
Looking forward to roleplay with you!! |

| @White Queen: Thank you for those kind words! I have seen Jane being treated in that way, but I really think that she has a lot of hidden potential, and I hope I can play her well.
@Roxy: Thanks! My schedules hectic, but I can make it work, and I cant wait to get the hang of things to be a full participant in the forums. Hoo hoo hoo :B |

| Help this is so cute I can't-!!!
Your Jane is adorable and I just loved both the development as well as the little things you've brought into this profile. Seeing how she became more serious about her duties was wonderful! And I loved that she likes plays as well, even more that she likes to throw pies at her friends! XD It adds that fun to the character I think a lot of people tend to forget about Jane.
Lovely, lovely profile and I can't wait to see you around Prospit!
(Btw, this is random, but was her love for rabbits because of BunBert or I am grasping at straws on that? XD Either way, Jane making a rabbit feel better is an adorable image <3) |

| @Jade - BunBert? Does it involve John by any chance? Because if it does, total news flash for me. I just felt like she'd be a rabbit person, what with Lil' Seb and that her teeth sort of remind me of rabbit teeth.
Regardless, thank you for those really wonderful words. I'm glad to be able to be a part of this, and I'm looking forward to fleshing out her stories with the community.
And yes, I adore the people talking about cute. I shall hoard all the cute feels to use in my healings XD |

| It's just a silly fandom thing! Goodness, I don't know how I let the Lil' Seb thing slip by me, but that makes so much sense! Since that's the case, very clever~! And ahaha, they do look like rabbit teeth, now that you mention it...
You're very welcome!
Feels hoarding is alwaaaays a good thing~ Especially cute feels, those are the absolute best ones! :3 |
