It was a regular day on Derse. Dirk had already had his philosophy lesson on existentialism, during which he realized he was rather existentialist in certain regards. He had already been down to see Dave and had discussed military strategy with him to work their minds. They'd also sparred for a bit. Dirk was a get things done kind of guy; ambitious, takes initiative. Part of his initiative included helping to continue amicable relations with Prospit.

He had started a project who's culmination would be a helpful robotic companion of sorts. Dirk had thought of this project rather arbitrarily. He just thought that being the Prince of Derse, he should do something nice for Prospit.

Dirk casually walked through the halls in his tower to the room he had turned into a study. He sat down at his desk where he had an unfinished prototype for the robot. Sketchbook open beside him, he'd scrawl new things into the diagrams as he thought of more things the robot should be able to do. He wanted to it be a multipurpose robot, generally helpful. Something that could fetch things from another room, do simple chores, and provide company while simulating intelligence. Dirk scanned meticulously over his available parts and found a few mechanisms that could be used for the joints.

He soon finished the prototype, programming and all. Of course he would have to work out any bugs, but you only find bugs through testing and use. Though, after scanning through the code multiple times he could find nothing too bad wrong with it. Perhaps it was time to begin correspondence with Prospit. He thought the Priestess of the Temple of Life would be a good place to start.

Dirk looked over his robotic creation again and sat down with a pen and parchment. It would be a short letter. He thought about what he would say before he touched the pen down and wrote,

Dear Priestess of the Temple of Life,

I have been working on a project of sorts. Once finished it could be helpful in a small way to your kingdom's nobility. It's more of a gesture of kindness and friendship than anything else. I anxiously wait for an opportunity to visit Prospit and show you the prototype.

Prince of Derse,
Dirk Strider

Dirk gently blew over the ink to make it dry faster. He carefully folded the parchment making clean crisp creases and gently put it into a violet envelope embossed with the Derse emblem. He found his sealing wax and monogram seal, carefully dripped a few drops of the deep deep purple wax on the edge of the flap of the beautiful violet envelope and pressed it with the seal.

Dirk took up his letter in search of the Parcel Mistress. He went down from his tower and out to the square where she could usually be found. When he found her he tapped her gently on the shoulder.

"Hello, this is a letter for the Priestess in the Temple on Prospit. It isn't urgent but please make sure it doesn't get lost." he said with an amicable tone, knowing the mail lady would be able to deliver it without fail.

The white carapatian nodded. - Of course Prince Dirk! The Parcel Mistress went on her way and Dirk made his way back up to his tower to continue work on the robot prototype.

Friendly Diplomacy [Dirk and Jane] Empty

It was another good day in Prospit. The sky wasn't so grey as usual, so prayers and meditations were done quickly. The priestesses continued their tutoring, but only one of the girls was freely roaming about the Temple.

Jane let out a sigh as she glanced through a window she was passing, wanting to go out for a bit and enjoy the scenery. But first she had to get this set of laundry down to the girls in the main hall. Humming, she stepped down to the first floor and walked straight for the laundry room. Saying hellos and then goodbyes took up only a few minutes before the girl was practically flying out the door.

She glanced up at the clouds and saw a flash of a vision. She didn't have as strong an ability to read the clouds as say a Seer or the Witch of the Green Sun, but she got flashes from time to time. This one was strange, from what she could see. There was purple. But purple was the royal color of Derse, wasn't it? What would happen that would involve a Dersite with her?

She jumped at the feeling of a hand on her shoulder. Glancing up, she saw the friendly Parcel Mistress and gave her a smile.

"Is there anything for the Temple?" She asked curiously. The carapace nodded and handed her a few envelopes, one of which was the deep violet of Derse. Jane flipped the letter and her eyes widened as she saw the royal seal of the Prince. She hurriedly thanked PM and rushed inside. What would the Prince be telling them? It wasn't often that they received any kind of correspondence, but it was even stranger that it was of the Derse kind.

Navigating the oncoming rush of maidens whom were about to start their midday chores, she headed to the Head Priestesses room. Knocking, then entering, Jane handed over the correspondence. The priestess was quite surprised to see the letter as well, but read it and then handed it to her pupil to read.

When she finished with the note, Jane turned her confused blue eyes to her tutor, not bothering to voice her question. Eventually the Prince would come, and they would be there to greet him.

Dirk had collected everything he needed for his trip to Prospit: a week's worth of clothing, the prototype, some reading material, and a nice, non-invasive cologne. He packed everything carefully into his suitcase and went down from his tower to catch the shuttle to the planet below. Once upon the planet he went to the Palace to say goodbye to the Queen who was like a mother figure to him. It would just be plain rude if he had not stopped in to notify her of his plans on Prospit. After sorting that out he hurried to the main space station, excited to present his machine to the Prospitians. He found therein a white carapatian who he knew would be the captain of the ferry to Prospit. "Hello sir, I need transport to Prospit on the next ferry if you please." he stated as he approached. The carapace was very helpful, checked Dirk's bag and found him a seat. Being the Prince did have its little perks.

The trip only took a couple hours and wasn't that uncomfortable: no turbulence. It just felt like forever as there wasn't much to look at out the windows.... Space, you know? Upon arrival, Dirk asked a young carapatian if she knew the way to the Temple of Life. - Of course, mister! she said as she began to lead the Dersite Prince to the shuttle station to the moon. "Thank you." Dirk said with a soft smile, "I should be able to find my way once up on the moon." Dirk sent the carapace on her way and took the shuttle up to the moon. He realized that he was receiving some off glances from some of the carapaces. Nothing too bad, but just off. Probably because there was Derse nobility just walking around..... Dirk soon found his way to the outer gates of the Temple of Life and saw a bell with a little pull cord to rock it. "Wonder if anyone is home..." he thought quietly to himself.

While she had been charged with keeping the visiting Prince entertained and accompanied, it did not mean that Jane was without work. The morning of the promised day, she still had to help clean and cook, and be mindful of her clothing while at it. It just wouldn't do to greet nobility with soiled clothing.

She was already directing one of the other girls to take some blankets to the upstairs chambers when she heard a ringing from the main door. Giving her the instructions, she lifted the hem of her dress and rushed to the door.

"Welcome to the Temple--" Her regular speech became lodged in her throat as she saw that it was Prince Dirk. With a blush on her cheeks, her hands flailed about comically for a moment before she remembered her manners and did a curtsy.

"Welcome Prince Dirk. I'm Jane Crocker, and I've been told to be your accompaniment during your visit." She tripped over a few of the words as she slowly arose, seeing how grand he looked compared to her simple yellow gown. It was truly a sight, a maiden of her position speaking to the Prince of the neighboring planet.

Shaking her head out of those thoughts, she gave him a smile, mostly to ease her own nerves. She would have thought that he wouldn't be as nervous as she was now.
