History
At first sight, Aradia Megido never seemed like a very outstanding troll. That is, until you got to know her - then, she became a peculiar girl, powers bordering on supernatural! Even at a young age, her interests were strange. While other trolls were playing in the streets or spending time with friends at the age of 5 human years, Aradia was taking history lessons from her carapace guardian, or else planning archaeology excursions. She loved history - loved looking objectively at the stories of civilizations, loved weaving a story from a single artifact. Even of it made her seem like a bit of a weirdo among her peers, so be it! She was okay with that. Adventures and stories of ancient ruins were what she knew best.
At around age 6, Aradia met her best friend. His name was Sollux Captor, and she had approached him because he seemed to be, well, like her. She was right - he also heard the voices, and together they learned to cope with them. He was good for her - he didn't seem to mind her enthusiasm in her uncommon hobbies, and she in turn helped and understood when he had his headaches. Partially due to their psychic abilities, she rarely had to say anything in his presence. They understood each other perfectly. As they grew older, she continued to love him like a brother, although she was never sure if there was something else. She has seen less and less of him in recent years, because of how busy she is working with the rebel movement.
As she aged, she became more and more aware of the voices of the dead. No one but Sollux knew, and she felt herself being drawn more and more often to the cemetery, where she could hear the voices clearest. She always had the ability to converse with the ghosts of her dead civilization, but it wasn't until she was 10 years old that she began to discuss deeper, more important things with them. Through this, she gained a more comprehensive, positive view of death, and an all-consuming passion for the subject. Aradia didn’t understand why so many trolls were afraid of it – death was really just like an adventure! Around the same time, she also began to practise and fine-tune her psychic ability. As a result, by age 15, she was able to lift and move objects from more than 15 paces away.
When the rebellion movement began, Aradia immediately sought out the rebel groups of Derse and joined their ranks for protection. As a lowblood, she and her fellows often became the target of highblood discrimination, herself more so because of her rumored strangeness. She continued to work as an active member since she joined as a 15 year old. At age 16, she strongly dislikes the rule of the Condensce, and will do anything to protect her friends, and make sure Derse is ruled fairly once more.
Personality
Aradia is generally outgoing and extremely optimistic, even in bleak situations, but the enthusiasm she expresses in the more morbid aspects of the world is sometimes unnerving to her friends. Even so, she would protect them with her life if need be. She is also quite clever and usually has her wits about her. She believes strongly in the idea of fate, and devotes a lot of her time in ensuring that things play out the way her ghosts tell her they should. She takes her “duty” of helping fate work itself out very seriously.
Aradia is very goal-driven and likes doing things properly. Not achieving her own goals can sometimes leave her feeling very empty and down, so she makes sure she knows where she’s headed at all times!
Although she is quite capable of predicting the consequences of her actions, she sometimes ignores reason and goes with her gut feeling. Her foresight is really quite strong, but sometimes her feelings win out.
Physical Headcanon:
Living in the low district all her life has taken its toll on Aradia. Standing at an above-average 5’8”, she is still quite skinny. That doesn’t stop her from romping and adventuring all over Derse, however, and despite her slight figure, she is quite capable on her own. All of her attire is based almost entirely on practicality. Although she looks good in dresses, most of Aradia’s simple gowns are worn and shredded at the hems from all of her activity. She has very thick, shiny black hair, but she usually keeps it tied up in a ponytail, so it doesn’t get in her way. She has a trademark white fedora, which she calls her “archaeologist’s hat”, that she can be seen wearing all the time. She wields a whip.

The history of Alternia is long and fraught with violence, although that is not to say that it is not interesting. Myths of its origin are first recorded in caves, and since then there have been a multitude of
“AA, what’s that sound?”
Aradia looked up from her writing at Sollux, who was doing some gaming while perched on the arm of her chair. “What sound?” she asked, confused.
“Can’t you hear it?” he said impatiently. She cocked her head to the side and listened intently. Sure enough, there was a sound coming from… outside? “I don’t know!” she exclaimed, casting a glance over to the door. “Do you think I should…?”
“No, just leave it,” he muttered vaguely, already playing his game again. She shrugged and leaned on his back, picking up her pen to continue her records.

“AA.”
She glanced up again. “What is it?”
“Okay, I think this is kind of weird, but –“
She made him turn around to look at her. “What?”
“I think there’s… someone outside?”
“Okay, I’m going.” Before Sollux could reply, she had already yanked open the front door and stepped outside. “There’s nothing out here!” she yelled back inside. But then she paused, just about to go back in. There was that sound again! What could it be? It sounded a bit like…
… what was it…?
…
…heavy breathing?
