Q: I was wondering because the food sources, for example, grapes for wine and wheat for bread would probably be grown straight onto Prospit and Derse, right? Or would it be imported from Skaia?Prospit and Derse have their own vegetation; yellow and golden flowers for Prospit and purple to pink for Derse. Grapes and other kind of fruits could be grown on Prospit and Derse since they have threes. However, the wheat and other cereals come from Skaia.
Regarding the animals, there are few of them. Most of the animals from which you get meat and other animal food (such as milk and eggs) originate from Skaia.
There are horses on both planets. They are originated from Skaia but both civilisations use them as means of transportation (by riding them or equipping carriages to them).
Skaia is like Earth but with no limit; so there practically no limit to what kind of animal and plants there are on the blue planet!
No food comes from Alternia since it’s a dead planet.
A little bit of history:In the early ages of both planets, food was more difficult to obtain. The carapaces and humans had to eat what they could find on their planet (basically fruits).
With the religions, food started to be more accessible. On Prospit, the Wizard of the Green Sun could materialise plants and animals from Skaia. That led to the diversification of the alimentation. On Derse, the members of the Circle would communicate with the Horrorterrors and sometimes, that would lead to food appearing on Derse.
With the Renaissane and the new space ships, it became easier to get food directly from Skaia. Now, there’s a lot of diversity in the alimentation. The war sometimes creates conflicts in the supplying but no big problem had happened for now.
If the war lasts too long, Prospit might create an embargo around Skaia to prevent the Condesce from getting food. However, the White King and Queen (mostly her) are reluctant to do so because that action would affect the population more than the evil Queen.
Q: Prospit and Derse are basically like miniature versions of Earth, right? Though I don't think they'd have lakes or any natural formations, since I don't really see any on the drawings Hussie has for Prospit and Derse... Would they? You are totally right about that point. They are miniature Earth minus the lakes and natural formations. In fact, the planets are basically spheres made with rocks; these rocks led to the creation of the streets and buildings.
Let’s say that about 80% of the planets are rock and the rest is fertile soil. The moons have a lot of fertile soil so a lot of trees and flowers grow there.
A few artificial canals have been built on Derse and Prospit. Bridges allow the citizens to cross them.
Energy on Prospit and Derse
There seems to be a confusion as to why the planets are candle-lit but there are machines in the AU.
The simple answer is that the story takes places in a kind of anachronistic setting. You could compare that to STEAMPUNK but with a different time period.
Facts:There is no electricity. People use candles or oil lamp to light their house. The street lights also work that way.
The machine work with mechanisms and might involve electricity.
Machines are commonly used in the army and by rich people. Regular citizens seldom have to use them and most of the time, they can’t afford them (see the reference about fire arms in the “general settings” post). The only exception to that are the shuttles going from the planet to the moon.
