| When dinner time came, at school, no one came with Eridan where he sat. Like all the times. No one ever sat with him.
Anyway, he was better than the land dwellers and the carapaces. The only ones superior to him was the tyrian purple bloods. And since they were not many...
The sea dweller began to ate his lunch. The only good thing for Eridan with his guardian was that he ate alright everyday. Other than that, the greedy carapaces would not pay anything for the troll he had to guard. The only ones who were actually "caring" for him were the highbloods, who kept saying to him that nobody were better than the sea dwellers.
The person that Eridan came to admire the most was Orphaner Dualscar, his ancestor. He was responsible for keeping the monstrous lusus of her Imperious Condescension satiate, so he doesn't release the vast glub, which would have killed all the trolls. To do that, Dualscar was killing other lusi. Hence the nickname Orphaner. Eridan would have like to have this responsibility.
And with that he began to thought about the great conquest the highblood had done, long before, until they rule Alternia. Oh, how he likes these tales... Today, nothing like that would happen, surely... The carapaces and the humans were slowly killing the very that were making the trolls what they are... |

| Feferi Peixes is 8 and a quarter years old and is feeling particularly EXCITED today. The moody purple sky seemed to shine a bit brighter, her school bag a little bit lighter and she had no doubt that her lunch was going to be extra magnificent for today the young Seadweller had lost a tooth. Her FIRST tooth to be exact.
She eyed the cafeteria like a hawk, or at least some sort of Alternian equivalent, with a tray of school dinners in her hands. She had made it her mission to sit with every fellow pupil she could, people were just AMAZING. They had all different stories, and they were different and just absolutely everyone had something unique to share with her.
Eventually her gaze settled on one of the school’s few other Seadwellers, a boy named Eridan, she believed. She grinned and practically skipped over to sit with him, her food tray slamming on the table in time to her backside hitting a chair.
“HEY!” She practically shouted, her enthusiasm bubbling out of her like she was going to explode.
“Look!” She ordered, as she fished her sharp predatory tooth out of her pocket, and put it on her tray, though off her plate, and left it there for Eridan to see. Apparently she had some hope he’d find it just as exciting as she does. “I lost my tooth!”
The grin she’d be known for in later life remained, though with one of her canines (or equivalent) was missing, clearly the one of the table. The Troll was also completed by what seemed to be hair she’d never had cut (indeed, it looked well on its way to becoming a living creature in its own right) and a pair of fuchsia goggles over her eyes. She continued grinning, waiting for a reply.

| When Eridan seen the other sea dweller came to his direction, he wonder if he should hide somewhere. He didn't know her much, only knowing that her name is Feferi and that she is one of the very few tyrian purple troll. And yet, she doesn't honor the sea dwellers with her bubbly and careless temperament. Then she came by him and said:
-HEY! Look! I lost my tooth!
This is when Eridan definitely decided that he would have been better to hide. But it was also too late for that, as the inquiring sea dweller female already began to talk to him. And the only intelligent thing he was able to reply was:
-Hum... Yeah, good for you.
If we can say that this is an intelligent thing... Eridan began to worry what will happen after, and to hope he was able to disappear in the ground forever... |

| "Hum... Yeah, good for you."
Well he didn't seem very inviting, at least, but this wasn't the first time Feferi had come across someone not particularly willing to be friend at first. It can sometimes take get perseverance and lots of affection to get someone to open up to you, but gosh darn it Feferi was full of enough Peixes-brand pep and optimism for both of them!
She quickly pockets her tooth and joined him in silence for a bit, still grinning, as she kicked her legs childishly. The soles of her shoes skidding across the floor as she reached for the sandwich on her lunch tray. She turned to look at him as she took a bite, and continued to watch him until she had finished her mouthful.
"I REELY like you scarf!" She said, her voice still perhaps a little too loud. She picked up the end of the aforementioned item of clothing before letting it drop again. She giggled hysterically.
"It matches your hair!" She continued, before pointing at the streak in his hair as if there was a chance he may never have noticed the comparison. She put her sandwich back down on her tray and held out her hand.
"I'm FEFERI!" She proclaimed. "Feferi Peixes! Are you Eridan?"
Yes she was certainly pep-filled.
"I don't reely know much aboat you! Want to be fronds?" She finished, weaving in fish puns like a pro.

| Eridan was almost terrified by Feferi enthusiasm, but quickly got back his mighty and melodramatic attitude. He answered at his first remarks by:
-Thank you, heiress. You look really good too. I guess it's wwhat wwe get by being on top a the hemospectrum.
For now, it looks fine. Can we push this a little?
-Yes, yes, I'm Eridan Ampora, purple blooded seadwweller. Also, it wwould be an honor to get to knoww you better, heiress.
What now, why not try to impress her?
-Anywway, it wwas only aboat time that wwe meet, wwhen wwe sea the number of higher bloods alivve. Fishermore, greater minds think alike, isn't it?
Oh well, he will need to work on this a little, it is sure... But anyway, it will certainly worth it if it can get the favors of a tyrian purple blood. And, it's also good to get to talk to another seadweller.

| Well he certainly seemed rather...different. But different was good! Different was new, different was EXCITING. Different meant a whole new friendship to be uncovered like shells at the beach.
She erupted into another fit of giggles.
"I don't really know what an heiress is!" she declared, her grin still plastered on her face as she maintained rather unnerving eye contact with a disturbing lack of blinking. Her facial fins fluttered slightly.
Then she squealed, a high pitched display of delight as she furiously clapped her hands together.
"Eeeeee! Fish puns!" She shrieked before grabbing on his arm. "Okay, you can be my new best friend!"
She looped her arm further around Eridan's and gleefully sat there, kicking her legs, ignorant to the more fascistic undertones to her new friend's fish puns.
"So why do you sit all pier by yourshellf?" She asked, turning to face him without any apparent regard for personal space.

| Eridan was ASHAMED: was the heiress has a poor enough education that she didn't even know who she was? How someone could have allowed THAT? An aberration of that sort would need to be punished... But anyway, the tutor of tyrian purple blooded troll probably didn't know enough about her. Carapaces were so ignorant. They are knowing nothing of the trolls, in truth.
"I think it wwill be something I wwill need to tell to you. But maybe not noww, I wwould be too long to explicate."
Then something caught his attention: her NEW best friend? How someone could say that so carelessly, as if it changed daily? But it was true that he personally never had friends, so he couldn't know how it was. But still, something felt wrong in this sentence...
Strangely, he felt like he began to feel more relaxed around her, and he scolded himself:
*You can't havve these moments of wweakness! You're a highblood after all! You got to be more serious!*
But it wasn't helping much. And when she asked her next question, he couldn't help but answer:
"I'm not sure, but I think the others may find me too cold with them... But they are not as high as me or you, anywway." said in a more calm tone than before.
It was really getting to him... He wasn't serious enough. Or maybe too much, seeing his age... |
